You know how we’re always being told that snacking is bad? Well no more.

These INCREDIBLE no bake energy balls are the future of snacking and after making and tasting these, there is no room for shop bought snacks in our lives. We admit we may be a little late to the party as these have been around for a while but now we’ve made and sampled them – we just had to share.

They literally take minutes to throw together, are super healthy, will keep you satisfied for hours AND you can feel virtuous. They are amaze balls.

They are loaded with nutrients, gluten free, 100% natural and absolutely delicious. A perfect snack for everyone in the family and one that you will be delighted for your kids to eat.

What you need for your Energy Balls

PEANUT BUTTER & CHOCOLATE 

  • 1 cup of porridge oats
  • 1 tbsp of chia seeds
  • 1/2 cup of natural peanut butter (or any other nut butter)
  • 2 tsp of vanilla extract
  • 2 tbsp of honey or Maple Syrup
  • 1/3 cup of chopped dates
  • 1/3 cup of chocolate chips
  • Dash of chocolate almond milk or water (See tip)

CRANBERRY & ALMOND 

  • 1 cup of porridge oats
  • 1 tbsp of chia seeds
  • 1/2 cup of natural peanut butter (or any other nut butter)
  • 2 tsp of vanilla extract
  • 2 tbsp of honey or maple syrup
  • 1/3 cup of sliced almonds
  • 1/3 cup of chopped cranberries
  • Dash of almond milk or water.

 HAZELNUT & BANANA

  • 1 cup of porridge oats
  • 1 tbsp of chia seeds
  • 1 banana mashed
  • 1/2 cup of nut butter (or peanut butter)
  • 2 tsp of vanilla extract
  • 2 tbsp of honey or maple syrup
  • 1/3 cup of hazelnuts
  • Dash of almond milk or water

Method

  1. Place all the dry ingredients into a large bowl.
  2. Add the sticky ingredients such as the nut butter, honey and vanilla extract.
  3. Stir to combine them all until you have a slightly sticky mixture.
  4. If needs be add the liquid 1 dash at a time until it comes together in a large ball. If it is still too crumbly add another tablespoon until the texture holds together without crumbling but isn’t too wet.
  5. Roll the mixture into balls using your hands.
  6. Place on a baking tray in the fridge but approx 30 minutes until set.

TIPS

  • You may not need all the liquid so use it sparingly.
  • These are best stored in the fridge but are easy to take on-the-go.
